God i wish i love backgrounds as much as figures and monsters, but alas...i dont like drawing backgrounds much.

That is an impressive drawing. Very lovely concept and composition. :) I guess the lack of a BG helps the viewer focus more on the dragon rather than what's going on around it, especially with such a detailed piece of art. I assume adding a BG would confuse the person and give a false sense of crowdedness.

Or it could just be me rambling. :/
