He is beautiful though.. did you use patterns for the grainey sections of his body? and my GOD man 45 hours is something.. normally I try to get my pics done quickly.. but now, after seeing this I am concidering my technique.. longer IS better.. nice work again, thanx fer sharing!

I love the feeling of most of his spikes, it really reminds me of the volcanic glass shards I used to have..

On some level I think you should cut down on the detail to allow the overall form to show better. Or utilize depth fog I suppose. That'll make him look huge :3
