FF13 related comic thing spoiler alert by Wen-M FF13 related comic thing spoiler alert by Wen-M
It's nothing new that games now days are not comparable to the older days...but some ideas are tougher to accept than others...

I am willing to bet you $20 if there is a FF13-4th game, they will do this to Vanille again.

if someone knows a better category this should go into, please let me know. thanks!

images were found on google search, they shall belong to their rightful owners, i take no credit in the creation of them, simply borrowed them to illustrate my points.

They really ramped up the difficulty in Lightning Returns compared to the last two. I barely got to the last boss and couldn't beat it.

You have no curing abilities (stock up on potions), you don't regen health between fights, you have to block or dodge manually, and you don't have AI partners (except for a couple situations where someone may temporarily join you). The bosses are really tough and there is no such thing as power leveling. You only increase your stats by performing quests (so I guess that makes it "power questing").

However, if you do end up being unable to beat said final boss (like me) there is a Majora's Mask like thing to turn back time and try again. You keep your stats but can redo all the quests again so it is quite a bit easier at that point. However, you take a nasty HP penalty (lose something like 5% of your health at the start of each battle).

The story is good. I was happy. There were a few parts where my lack of perfect fluency left me hanging, but I eventually figured it out on the second play through.

The one thing that surprised me the most was that if you kill the same enemy in random encounter battles over and over again they can actually become extinct. It is quite a weird little feature. There are a couple quests to make specific monsters go extinct and one guy who wants you to do so to every monster in the game.

The costumes are crazy. There is a huge variety. They have interesting effects like what her poses and quotes are during battle as well as what random people around town say when you run by them. If you are wearing one of the costumes that comes from a different FF game (Cloud's suit, Aerith's suit, Yuna's suit, Miqotte's suit) it will play that game's victory music at the end of battle.

Now I have to find time to play the X/X-2 HD remake between rounds of XIV and Link to the Past 2.

Gameplay was amazing, right up my alley with juggles, and combos. Story was very mediocre. But hey thats games now adays, Come up with a mediocre story, create characters that are easily relatable to, and give them a good moral standing in whatever their eneavors may be. OH AND DONT FORGET THE FEELS YOU GOTTA ADD THE FEELS, People love that crying shit!! Voila! You got a game. : )

It's as if the crystal serves as her "time out corner"

XIII was amazing imo (wish i could rewatch all of the cut scenes w/o having to replay the game). not the best but amazing and it didn't need a sequel. XIII-2 almost could have been it's own story in the series i thought...

regardless of XIII-3 being good or bad ill buy and play it...

i just wish they would have kept the gameplay the same as it was in the first game....i liked the original crystarium and i miss having more than 1-2 characters to switch between...even if i did always play as the same 3... it was nice to have that choice...which seems to be the center piece for the whole story line.

There will be 13 FFXIII's. Their rep's confirmed this at their convention in the US earlier this year.
